How we handle personal data on behalf of the businesses that use AI Caller, and what rights the people who call them have.

Last updated 7 August 2026

Status of this document

This is a working draft prepared for review. Have a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction review and adapt it before you publish or rely on it.

Who controls the data

The business using AI Caller is the controller of the personal data collected on its calls. AI Caller acts as processor, handling that data on their instructions under a data processing agreement.

What is collected

Typically the caller name, phone number, the reason for the call and whatever fields the business configured as required, such as a vehicle registration or an appointment preference. A transcript is produced, and a recording only if the business enabled it.

How long it is kept

Retention is set by the business in its own configuration. Data can be deleted on request, and the deletion is itself recorded in the audit trail.

Rights of callers

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your data, and to object to processing. Direct those requests to the business you called, since they control the data. They can act on it in the platform immediately.
